Tell us about yourself and your family:

Happily married for over 25 years. I have an amazing son who is in the Navy and recently re-enlisted. My chi's are our babies and they are too spoiled.

What do you do for fun:

For fun I like to hang out with my friends and just relax - nothing too fancy.

Tell us about your business. What do you do or sell, etc?

I love being a Damsel. There is nothing more exciting than seeing a woman hold a stun gun and learn how to use it. Their eyes light up when they realize - I CAN DO THIS! Being a rape survivor, when I saw Damsel in Defense - I knew this was it. It's not just a product - It can save lives.

Stun Guns that look like flash lights!

What is the biggest challenge starting your business:

Just getting the word out about Damsel. We are only 3 years old, so not a lot of people have heard about them.

What's the biggest challenge running your business:

Keeping my work in my office. Working from home I tend to leave work throughout the house. This has gotten much better though.

Advise for other women wanting to start a business:

DO IT! You will never know if you don't try. Find a company/product that you LOVE. You have to have passion for what you are doing or it just will not work. Listen to your upline or others that have been with the company for a while. They know what works and what doesn't. STOP trying to re-invent the wheel - if something works keep doing it.

What motivates you? I'm very competitive. I'm constantly competing with myself. I also secretly compete with others... it keeps me going

Can you recommend any good resources/websites/networks?

I love The Direct Sales Institute. You can find them on Facebook.

Why did you join this network?

I joined this network to meet others and get and share ideas with other Direct Sellers. We all work from home - but that doesn't mean we have to be alone.
